ACCOUNTABILITY

What is it to Account for something?  Is it the same as Responsibility? 

            Able to Account/ Able to Respond 

Accountability indicates the means to go beyond justifying; to be able to account for your actions; to show how event or logic ‘A’ led to event or logic ‘B’, whether or not those events or logics are regarded by yourself and others in a negative or a positive manner. It goes beyond Responsibility, in that you must give evidence and support for the logic or action.  

To be Responsible, or able to respond, means that you did your best to respond, within your abilities, to meet the challenges of the logic or event. In Responsibility, you announce the intention to respond to a set of logics or events; it might be more centered in the world of intention than it is in the world of action.

With Accountability, the buck stops with you: all logics and events that you agree to conclude become your domain of Accountability. In a year of fire, you must go beyond Responsibility, and strive for your actions to meet the higher standards of Accountability.  

Survey your self today how your thoughts, beliefs, 

and actions support or negate this condition, 

and make a forward plan to strengthen the base on which 

you will grow your Accountability.
