 Trends come and go, but Evergreen ideas stay forever, even when they inhabit the background, quiet and idling. Trends come packaged with anxiety, but Evergreen ideas are soft and durable.

While mortal, you must own and earn a place to live, acquire food to eat, form relationships with family and community, care for the body. The zeitgeist will inform you how and why you must do those things, for trends are ever-changing.

The Evergreens are ideas, cause-and-effect, energy principles, and deep wisdoms that compound as each entity embraces and absorbs the aspects of the everlasting. Truth. Exchange. Clear Vision.

You recognize the Evergreens in both your micro- and macro-cosms. They have roots. They inspire and re-spire. They balance in perpetuity.

When you are anxious about non-Evergreen ideas: human relationships, material goods, social obligations, physical and mental health, remember to reach out. The Evergreens have always been here and will always be here. They are inexhaustible, and though they can elicit emotional responses from those who encounter their energies, they themselves are unemotional.

Follow your breath to the center. Listen for the threads of the Evergreens, the Always-Have-Beens. Their vibrations feel like pure Love, Kindness, and Truth. They do not judge.

They are. And as you make connection with the Evergreens, you will remember that You Are Too part of the Evergreen.

THE CASH-RAM: SURRENDER'S EXCISE TAX

SURRENDER’S EXCISE TAX

          ~~accepting the burden

 

In the busy world, among our doubts, reservations, obligations, and fears, Surrender is calling. Surrender allows us to strip away ‘who we believe we are’ to discover who and what we are—and what we are here to achieve.

Meanwhile, we must have shelter, food, transportation, medical care and more, for ourselves and for those we take care of. These needs and callings pull in different directions, placing stress on the heart and nervous system. 

How can we balance it all? Surrender, in our current societies, requires an Excise Tax, a payment we feel we must give in order to take time ‘doing nothing.’ And unfortunately, seeking Unfulfilled Surrender is such a common condition, we have created a whole industry to support Its achievement.

The Cash-Ram (or Cash for the Ashram) has become a premium service product. Retreats and workshops allow you to pay for the privilege of ‘doing nothing’ within their carefully cultivated borders. And this is fine—if you can afford the money and the time away to chase Surrender in a facilitated manner.

You, however, are an expert at Surrender. Yes. You are born with the quality of Surrender within you. This is not to equate with ‘failure’, ‘giving up,’ or ‘lost hope.’ This is to say that in order to receive cosmic wisdom, you need only still your self/Self and Listen.

And you must be prepared to pay society’s Excise Tax for the luxury of Solitude and the seeking of Wisdom. You must make Surrender important—as important as your shelter, food, and water—for Surrender is another critical, life-affirming and life-necessary resource.

Surrender provides you with Spiritual Purpose. Knowing who and what you are, and what you are here to achieve is as critical as the air you breathe and the food and water which sustain your mortal form. To fear the Excise Tax is to withhold from the self/Self one of the most necessary nourishments required for meaningful survival.

When you accept that the state of Surrender requires exchanges similar to rent, food, water, and healthcare, you show Great All that you understand Its importance. You are greater and more inclusive than you know. Being in sync with your purpose creates Value in every portion of your life.

Surrender. Immersing oneself in the deep-listening state of Solitude is not an extravagance. It is not a state of ‘doing nothing.’ Surrender is in fact, one of the greatest investments you can make while mortal, and It lifts not only the self/Self, It lifts everyone around you.

Make the investment. Pay the tax required. Release the guilt. 

Now . . . LISTEN.

You may plan and learn and revise and schedule—but until you take action, even flawed action for wrong reasons—your cause will not proceed. You will not launch.

Studying something does not launch the idea. Practicing something without launching it does not activate the idea. Envisioning something does not manifest the idea. For an idea to become manifest, you must launch the intention through personal energy and set it into the world.

Do you self-punish with ideas of less-than and non-perfection? The world is complex and many-fanged. Who is to say what is perfection? Have you not enjoyed the chaos of a field’s wildflowers—planted not in rows but bumping against each other in different sizes, shapes, ages, and purpose?

Beneath those flowers are the cojoined soils, micro-organisms and macro-organisms. Yes: they express science, but it is a science that echoes throughout their beauty—a kind of spontaneity that triggers joy. What if those flowers had stayed in the shadows, practicing to be flowers?

• What if those flowers had self-determined that they would fail at being flowers? How would the world be less without them? How much greater is the world because of them?

You are a flower, in the soil, hosting micro- and macro-organisms. Drinking sun and water and the harmonies created by being part of the weave. You are needed. You are loved. You matter in this world.

Do not keep practicing to be a flower. Let your flower burst forth, expansive and full of love, an energetic providence that is both gift and Song. Do your study and your practice, but listen to the cues that tell you when you have invested enough to move forward.

It is not as much as you think, and the impact of launching your creations creates more than you think.

THE TEMPLATE

   - Recognizing Where You Begin and End

You inherit more than your body from your ancestors. You inherit their skills, experiences, and trauma. You inherit both their good intentions and bad.

It is your job to recognize where your ancestors end and you begin—your job to decide who you will be, and build that person from the inside out. Don’t settle for second-hand goods. Envision your self in whole and accept only those building blocks which will create your vision, keeping you healthy and strong. Use the metaphorical red string to build traps around your rising construction, to keep out the negative influences.

When you are triggered, look at the transaction. What aspects of this event caused you to react in a harmful or self-defeating manner? Is this true for you? Is this an echo? Are you experiencing a long-gone memory from your cache of inheritance? Do not own something you cannot vet.

Are you afraid of heights, or was someone in your line afraid of heights? Are you actually allergic to cats? Can you rid your self of a birth defect? How clean, powerful, and streamlined can you make your self? Devoid of inherited trauma, who are you?

How do you move forward?
