SURRENDER’S EXCISE TAX

          ~~accepting the burden

 

In the busy world, among our doubts, reservations, obligations, and fears, Surrender is calling. Surrender allows us to strip away ‘who we believe we are’ to discover who and what we are—and what we are here to achieve.

Meanwhile, we must have shelter, food, transportation, medical care and more, for ourselves and for those we take care of. These needs and callings pull in different directions, placing stress on the heart and nervous system. 

How can we balance it all? Surrender, in our current societies, requires an Excise Tax, a payment we feel we must give in order to take time ‘doing nothing.’ And unfortunately, seeking Unfulfilled Surrender is such a common condition, we have created a whole industry to support Its achievement.

The Cash-Ram (or Cash for the Ashram) has become a premium service product. Retreats and workshops allow you to pay for the privilege of ‘doing nothing’ within their carefully cultivated borders. And this is fine—if you can afford the money and the time away to chase Surrender in a facilitated manner.

You, however, are an expert at Surrender. Yes. You are born with the quality of Surrender within you. This is not to equate with ‘failure’, ‘giving up,’ or ‘lost hope.’ This is to say that in order to receive cosmic wisdom, you need only still your self/Self and Listen.

And you must be prepared to pay society’s Excise Tax for the luxury of Solitude and the seeking of Wisdom. You must make Surrender important—as important as your shelter, food, and water—for Surrender is another critical, life-affirming and life-necessary resource.

Surrender provides you with Spiritual Purpose. Knowing who and what you are, and what you are here to achieve is as critical as the air you breathe and the food and water which sustain your mortal form. To fear the Excise Tax is to withhold from the self/Self one of the most necessary nourishments required for meaningful survival.

When you accept that the state of Surrender requires exchanges similar to rent, food, water, and healthcare, you show Great All that you understand Its importance. You are greater and more inclusive than you know. Being in sync with your purpose creates Value in every portion of your life.

Surrender. Immersing oneself in the deep-listening state of Solitude is not an extravagance. It is not a state of ‘doing nothing.’ Surrender is in fact, one of the greatest investments you can make while mortal, and It lifts not only the self/Self, It lifts everyone around you.

Make the investment. Pay the tax required. Release the guilt.
