THE EARLY LAMB

When the spring shearing comes, the Early Lamb will be passed over. This lamb will not have coat enough for the trimming. What coat it has will be needed to keep its slight body warm. This doesn’t mean that its wool is not quality wool or it is less than the other sheep. It means that this early lamb must wait a while to contribute its wool to the common tapestry.

When you notice yourself avoiding the Early Lamb, or the lamb who lacks maturity and reason, ask yourself why. Ask yourself if your offers to help and your kindness are a brand of self trickery. Do you believe that using generosity, in exchange for understanding will bring growth and acceptance that can be brought only through the High Will?

Any time we see the Early Lamb as less than ourselves, we are often blind to our own struggles--hiding in the undeveloped areas of ourselves--in our own Early Lambs who are waiting for their Spring. In order for the Early Lamb to grow strong and conscious and able to be a contributor, it must grow to have faith in itself through acceptance, love, compassion, and cooperative purpose.

Each of us must confront our personal demons. When they revisit, as they do when we encounter the Early Lamb and its young ideas, Spirit is asking us to assess where we are in our own development  Do not bandage what requires surgery. Do not blame away what requires deep contemplation. It’s like sweeping the dirt under the rug.

When spring comes and the lambing begins, you’ll not only find all of winter’s dirt under the rug, you’ll find that you are short for your weaving, exactly the amount of wool that could be provided by that Early Lamb. When you punish and blame, both yourself and others, it stops all forward progress by its taint.

Understand that Life is a spiral and by such, works in cycles. First, master the understanding of why you feed the negative energy of not-perfect. Envision the energy you feel when encountering a dogma or belief you have overcome, fearing it will reclaim you.

Envision that same energy channeled into positive growth and change. What then occurs? Love. Love for self and for others, for wherever they are, for wherever you are: for wherever We All Are, at this time together. In this moment.

Just as the wise old ram brings its blessings, so too does the Early Lamb.
Thereby may the lion lie down with the lamb and no harm come to him.

Blessed be this day
