REGRESSION

2017, ACTION, FORWARD MOTION, RESISTANCE

REGRESSION, PERCEPTION, CHANGE
SEPTEMBER 9, 2017

When met with challenge, how often to you Regress to old terms and customs? Deep patterns, even when destructive, can be comforting, while changing your core vibration can feel like a threat—and it is a threat—to your ego, your belief system, and your decision-making process.

You may advance and you may Regress, but you may not remain static.

We have spoken to you of the need to rise above a condition to see it clearly. To solve its riddle and change its trajectory, you must not only rise above the condition and see it clearly, you must make immediate shifts to change the outcomes of its influences. Liken it to a house fire that starts with a burning match. How long will you watch that match burn in proximity to dry tinder before you take action?

This is similar to Life. You say that you will become healthier, more educated, more pro-active, more communal, or more You in the High Sense . . . and you might say these things until the tinder catches fire and threatens all you own. You might watch the flames take everything, including your perceived peace of mind and feelings of safety and security, and still do nothing.

What is this phenomenon? How can one see that something is negative or destructive and not act to counteract its influences? How can one, when under threat, choose to return to older patterns rather than grow beyond them?

Sometimes it is a shutting down, and sometimes Regressing is a comparative study. Let us say that you are dealing with a subset of qualities that we will call “A” that you would like to amend or escape. Let us say that “A” confronts challenge. Instead of morphing the subset of “A”s qualities towards a subset we’ll call “B”, you slide back into “A”s most basic tenets—and immediately feel regret.

You feel regret because you have outgrown subset “A”. It no longer fits. You have Regressed to a comfortably uncomfortable past that no longer serves you . . . and feeling that discomfort is an expedient way to clearly see the need to move on to subset “B”. In this way, Regression can provide forward motion.

By being uncomfortable in your skin, subset “A” has shown you that you must now operate under higher tenets. Stepping into subset “B” becomes easier. You will no longer feel the downward tug of subset “A”, because you have consciously and willfully negated its future influence in your life.

Think of recent events and find a place where you have Regressed to subset “A” in your behaviors or actions. What feelings did you experience? How did you resolve the knowledge of having grown past subset “A”? How are you settling into subset “B”?

Life is a dance. Therefore, movement is not all forward. We move forward-and-back; we move to the side-and-back; we move in circles. As long as the big picture bears out our progress, we are consciously growing towards greater things.

Do not let Regression trick you into believing you have met failure. Let it show you how big you have become. Let Regression show you how the past no longer fits your present. Let Regression show you who you were so you can better plan for whom you will become.

Blessed Be This Day

For Discussion:  Name a set of circumstances in your life that could be categorized as subset "A" from your past. How is it currently affecting you?

What, exactly, is holding you back from moving forward to subset "B" ? Go to subset "A" and fully live in it for a day. How did that make you feel? Where is your thinking flawed as it relates to the conditions of subset "A" ?

Now: uncover one hidden subset where you are actually living in subset "A", or the past, and are in denial about it. Will continuing to live in subset "A" help you in any way in your current life? How might it be creating harm? If you could magically reconfigure the lies and misleading terms of subset "A", who would you be and how would you move forward?
