THE MANATUA
The Samoan language uses the word Manatua to indicate the act of remembering, memories, or the remembered. We would like to use Manatua this morning to indicate what is inside you that can be remembered: the Manatua that dwells in you; the memories that dwell in you. We do not speak of your mortal memories, but your eternal ones.
You have experienced déjà vu, that feeling that you have been someplace before, said something before, done something before, or met someone before—even though your mind is simultaneously telling you that is untrue. Is your mind lying or tricking you for its own ends? For that matter, if the experience can be explained by déjà vu, the fruition of something that you unconsciously knew would come to pass, what function could it serve?
Notice how your attention goes to point when you are experiencing a déjà vu. You are studying the experience from all angles. You are wondering why it is so familiar. You are intuitively working to extract its message. Why do I feel this way? What am I supposed to experience right now? What should I take away?
Remember right now experiences you have had where one of your senses has triggered a powerful memory, not a déjà vu, by linking your present with a different place in time and a difference place in space. Usually, you will have the opportunity to manage the present conditions differently than the previous ones—higher minded and with more maturity: “I was frightened by this when last I encountered a situation similar, but now I know how to effectively navigate these conditions . . .”
Now, think of the deeper Manatua, or a déjà vu: “I have done exactly this before. I know this, therefore I am in control. I give thanks to have had warning for this. I now know that I am in the right place doing the right thing.”
Can you then apply these same principles to what is inside you, remembered and waiting to be rediscovered? Yes. There are worlds of wisdom in you. There are endless connections. You are never without resources. You are never without help. You are never without Love.
We will call the body of the Manatua your archive—because it is its own animal. It exists alongside you, entailed to you, and intrinsic with you. Your Manatua is your second skin.
Explore the Manatua. It is also the Gatekeeper to greater archives, the Hall of Concordance, and the Great Manatua of Great All. Do you want to know more, feel more, do more? You may.
By opening the spine of your own Manatua, you access its storehouse. Because it is built on your template, you will perfectly understand its contents. It will be delivered perfectly unto you. You need go no further. With the Great Manatua as your guide, all things will open.
Blessed Be This Day

For Discussion: Have you accessed your own Manatua? Can you discern the difference in quality and reliability as provided by your mortal memory compared to your Manatua? Which of your human memory files do you return to most often? Why? In returning to these memories, are you attempting to live in the past, change the past, or merely touch-stone with the past?
How do you human memories weaken you? How do they give you strength? Have you had the experience of changing a memory when your Manatua shows you that it is false? How did that make you feel? How did that improve your life? How did it shift other memories? Did you feel more compelled to visit other memories and mark them against the Manatua for accuracy?
How might your Manatua serve you from this time forward?
