BEARING WITNESS

   ~binding truth

Within our lives, short or long, we will Bear Witness to many thoughts, feelings, and ideas. We will see kingdoms rise and fall. We will challenge our beliefs. And we will stand in the Face of Truth and regard Its Spectre; we will experience our Selves in Its Light.

Yet . . .  Bearing Witness is unlike any other experience. Truth, once encountered and accepted, becomes so immediately relevant, we draw a line, separating of all the things that happened before It, and after. We surrender a piece of our Selves to It. We reconfigure our Present and shift our Future. Bearing Witness is a game-changer.

You have heard many iterations of the idea that things happen, not to you, but in your presence, existing in their own weight, and belief, and manifest destiny. It is said that to release suffering, you must release the idea that events are personal, meant to harm or uplift us. It is said that the Great All is too busy existing to consider Who and What we are within It. Is this True?

When you Bear Witness to something that changes you from the core out, it is personal . . . and who is to say that this Witnessed thing was not made for you? –to embrace or challenge you? –to forever change your trajectory and your beliefs?

What event or Truth did you last Witness? How has that changed you? Without that, who would you be? How would your present be different? What has become more valued, or devalued, since the Witnessing event?

Bear Witness today to the most current incarnation of Self. Take inventory of the events which Created You. Bless the Truths, and the Truth of the Lies, that have made you the latest Thing. Bring to Bear, your awareness . . . and Bless that Knowing with Gratitude.
