2025 OCT 16 INHABIT AWARENESS THE PRESENT

  INHABIT

    ~ knowing your place 

 

We inhabit a day, a thought, a mood, a belief. Pulling our energy to center, we focus. This is now. We are thinking and feeling. We are experiencing. We are present.


What happens when we draw focus away, projecting it towards the past or future—which are really just ‘Todays’ we cannot actually Inhabit? Energy leaks away. The fuel in our present dwindles. We reduce our power to understand and react in ways that can make us more whole.


Knowing your place is a matter of observation, feeling, awareness, and following each of these ideas, resolution and acceptance. We can only change a situation, fix a problem, soothe a fear, or rise with courage when we are in our place, fully inhabiting it.


We have all been exposed to the idea that today is all we have, and perhaps we have heard this so many times it is rote, and has lost its power and relevance. Try feeling your body from the crown of your head to the bottoms of your feet. What are you thinking and feeling? How are you applying your energy?


Knowing your place—that you are always in the present—and that other thoughts, feelings, and actions are merely projections is powerful. Try for one hour today, or even one minute, being fully present in your present, fully inhabiting the only place it is possible to inhabit. What will you realize or achieve that you couldn’t have done before?

 ONE YEAR LATER

ONE YEAR LATER

    ~ moving through the gnarls

 
 

One Year Later’ has made a mark on the calendar you believe in your mind to be linear. Standing inside it, how does it feel to look back to your original inspiration? What did you dream for your life one year ago? How has your life changed and what work did you successfully accomplish to change it?


Even if you have failed your initial goal, or ‘sinned’, the energy of the goal has pulled you through the gnarls, sharing views of possibility and emergence. From this higher vantage point you may review how this time has passed, places where you triumphed or failed, places where you engaged your gifts or flaws to help move you forward.


Let us say that one year ago you established a need to develop a life-affirming habit, replacing a life-deteriorating one. How did you begin? Where did the sticking points occur? When did you pause and enjoy the energy of success? Compared to one year ago, what percentage of your plan has succeeded?


If this is a plan you wish to repeat, fine-tune the time ahead of you. You may set another one-year goal, or you might, day by day, set intentions, making micro-shifts to help keep you moving forward. This is not to say that some days, or cycles, you may temporarily fall back. If this happens, look around, take note of what has happened, and gird your self for protecting your future plans.


Today is your past and what it has made you. It is your future and to which things you aspire. And mostly importantly, Today is the only day you inhabit, and therefore the only day in which you may make change.


Make that change. Stay in motion with your ideals. Be true to the idea that you value perpetual growth. And share that inspiration with others, who when watching you succeed, feel greater motivation to keep moving forward themselves.
