FAITH

What is Faith?  Is it the same as Belief?  You have been hearing, and using, these words for most of your life.  Is this your current understanding of these wordthoughts?

Faith:  belief in something to be true without any evidence to support truth
Belief:  holding an idea to be true based on learned input

Faith and Belief are remarkably different:  in society, in evolution, in cosmic reality, and most importantly . . . in your personal patterns, pathways, and pathos.  Belief is a set of thoughtforms that have been conditioned into the mind of a sentient being by the experiences of that being’s life.

            • Breaking a mirror will bring 7 years bad luck
            • Monsters will take you if you don’t eat all of your vegetables
            • Masters feed you when they are pleased and starve you when they are angry
            • In Heaven there are harps and angels and in hell, fire and devils
            • Humans are the superior species currently alive on Planet Earth
            • Inferior races of humans should be annihilated in favor of superior races

Some of these Beliefs sit more gently with you than some of the others.  The list of Beliefs alive on Planet Earth today is astounding.  You would be dumbfounded by what you believed to be the ignorance, violence and ignominy of some of these Beliefs, so foreign to your own culture and your own Beliefs . . . yet they hold power for their Believers, who feed them Faith and look upon them as if their Beliefs were Truth.

In fact, Beliefs cannot be countered with more Beliefs, not in the end.  Beliefs can only be countered in a way that matters, by Truth.  Faith can lead to Truth.  And what is Faith?

Faith has long been colored by Belief.  Having devolved to a wordthought and an idea, Faith has been encapsulated to mean a hollow belief that someone clings to despite any evidence to support it.  Is that Faith?  No.  But, then, Faith cannot be contained by a singular idea, and certainly not by a singular wordthought.

Faith is a condition of the Quiet Mind:  the ability of one to see clearly, where one is in the moment and to be there, in that condition, accepting.  That is Faith.  Nothing more.

Faith is a deep understanding and acceptance of harmony.  It is not the application of anything.  We may talk about the application of Faith and now, that is another thing; it reflects different sociocultural inheritances, needs and circumstances.

Pure Faith, however, is this:
I am alive, here and now.
It is perfect.
